Guest Blog: NvS 2018
Tom Barker is a regular on the UK paintball scene and attends games across the UK representing Just Paintball as one of our 'on the ground' ambassadors ! In May he attended the largest event in the UK - North v South 2018 - and was kind enough to write us a little followup blog.
"As always the atmosphere was great at NvS and saw players from all over Europe attend. It was great chance to meet so many different paintball players from different backgrounds and see just how well they play on this little island. The trade expo was back again and naturally we had to make sure to bring the biggest and most widest variety of paintball gear you could ever ask for. Sporting the traditional yellow the JP trade stand was in full swing with the flags flying high!"
"Friday saw a good mixture of walkon style games with the option of trying out some magfed style games with OMG events. Later that evening they also had the iconic Evasion Challenge where players are sent out into the pitch black to complete a series of checkpoints in an escape and evade style game.
Saturday brought back the Enola Gaye Euro Versus Scenario game which would entice players into a 90 minute continuous game where each faction North or South would be pitted against all non-uk players in an epic battle. Whilst this was going on they also offered a variety of other walkon style games alongside magfed scenario games."
"Which brings us to the main event, the Sunday Big Game. With over 1000+ players battling over 500 acres for 7 hours this truly was the game of the weekend. The play from both sides was amazing and the final battle was the stuff of legend which you had to be there to know what it was really like."
"Overall North V South was an incredible weekend as ever and provided an excellent opportunity for myself to meet a wide variety of players from all walks of life. From beginners to pros it was amazing to see great teamwork and real show of sportsmanship.I look forward to returning to North V South next year and a special thanks to the crew that helped make the event that bit more special. Hope to see you all at the next big game of the year !" (Tom Barker, UK)
